MIND AND BODY CLASSES

  • Beginning Pilates has a focus on core strength and toning. This is a great place to start a new exercise program or experience Pilates for the first time. This class is designed to be gentle, progressive, and emphasize the basic principles of Pilates. This low-impact exercise utilizes yoga mats and stability balls. The class stands alone or can be taken in conjunction with Intermediate Pilates.
  • Intermediate Pilates is a conditioning class targeting the abdominal area, lower back, and buttocks. Great for increasing spinal flexibility and core strength.
  • Advanced Pilates is a way to extend your Pilates practice with advanced poses and series in this half-hour class. Classes include both familiar and new poses and series intended to challenge your core. This class can be taken independently or in conjunction with Intermediate Pilates for an extended workout.
  • Yoga aims to increase flexibility, strength, and body awareness through yoga poses and core exercises.

STRENGTH

  • Body Blast primarily focuses on non-stop muscle work with some cardio intervals thrown in to make you sweat!
  • Power Pump is a hard-hitting, easy to follow, weight training workout that trains your muscles from head to toe. Be sure to give your body a days rest between power pump classes.
  • Senior Fitness class offers low impact floor work, total body conditioning and stretching. This class utilizes weights of your choice, resistance bands and fit balls. You don't have to be a senior citizens to benefit from this class!

ENDURANCE

  • Bootcamp is a hard-hitting workout for all levels. Intense enough for the experienced participant but simple enough to follow for those new to classes. Cardio components will include; jump rope, jumping jacks, cardio kickboxing moves and more. Strength components will include squats, lunges, push ups, core work and more. This class will keep your heart rate up the whole time. On sunny days, part of the workout may be taken outside.
  • Step Aerobics is a fun, high energy workout using a varied-level platform. All moves are boken down with options given to fit your fitness level. A solid cardiovascular workout.
  • Zumba Fitness is like no other workout you will ever experience! It fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away.

 

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

When Lynden Public School cancels school due to weather and unsafe road conditions, all aerobics classes (both aerobics room and pool) will be cancelled. Classes will not be canceled due to late starts or other school-related closures unless the instructor can't make it to the gym.
